their stories, their voice
With today’s modern technology, we are granted easy access to all forms of entertainment which we can enjoy with ease. We don’t think much about the uncle crooning oldies while strumming guitars in MRT underpasses, but we flock to the latest exhibition along Esplanade walkway. Buskers, motivated by a simple desire to perform their craft, are increasingly forgotten and marginalised in our fast-paced society.
How often do we actually stop in our tracks and appreciate what these buskers have to offer? Busking, just like any other art form, requires skill and tenacity to execute. And here’s where busking is different – it takes a certain amount of courage and strength to be able to put oneself out there, in the public eye. Follow us as we embark on a journey to unearth the stories and motivations behind the buskers of Singapore.
